Visually Impaired Persons in Taita Taveta Receive Donations

Taita taveta County Officials Distributing Goodies to Visually Impaired Persons from the County

Visually impaired persons across Taita Taveta County have today received white canes and foodstuffs courtesy of the Kenya Society for the Blind and the County Government.

The items were distributed by the Kenya Union for the Blind Taita Taveta Branch chairman Venant Mwabara, County Government officials and Taita Taveta Covid 19 Resources Mobilization official Azar Zaid.

Speaking earlier today while distributing the items, Mr. Mwabara thanked the Kenya Society for the Blind (KSB ) and the County Government of Taita Taveta for considering the disabled during this pandemic period.

“I would like to thank H.E the Governor Granton Samboja for the good work he’s doing I also wish to ask other organizations to follow the foot steps of our able Governor and the KSB in supporting vulnerable persons,” he said.

He also sought for assistance in training persons living with disability on how to control the spread of corona virus, financial support to boost their businesses and supporting them with wheelchairs, calipers, sun creams, crutches and hearing aids.

They visited Voi, Wundanyi, Makandenyi, Wumingu, Mgange Nyika, Mgange Dawida and Taveta sub county. In attendance were Loise Shali from the Office of the Governor and Mwanda/Mgange Ward Adminiatrator Dickson Ngati.
